optical vase

For the Vivid Festival in the land Down Under, the installation Vessel of (Horti) Cultural Plenty showcased. Vessel of (Horti) Cultural Plenty, designed by Warren Langley, was recently showcased at Vivid Sydney, festival of music, light and ideas. Soaring four stories into the sky, the massive flowerpot uses 84 strand lateral emission fiber optic cables and three low-energy metal hallide bulbs to produce 200 meters of linear light with just 450 Watts of power. The base of the sculpture is crafted from rugged materials such as galvanized steel, laminated sheet iron and plywood to stand up to even the drunkest, burliest Aussie on the block. This one is sure to make that manager-special bouquet that you bought for your girl look even more wilted and inadequate.

Geneva Fountain

Originally a simple security valve at the Coulouvrenière hydraulic factory, this water fountain has, over the years, grown to be the symbol of Geneva.

In 1891, it was transferred to the “Rade”, to become a major tourist attraction. However, it was not until 1951 that it was provided with an autonomous pumping station, propelling 500 litres of water per second to a height of 140 metres at a speed of 200 km per hour (124 miles/h). Eight 9,000-watt projectors light the fountain’s majestic column in the evening as it soars skywards.

chanel fashion vehicle

This is a Chanel-branded concept car designed by Jinyoung Jo, a car designer from university of Hong-ik in South Korea. We had fashion brands on mobile phones and of course we had them on cars like the Murcielago Versache or the Merc CLK Armani, but I think it’s the first time a car is designed from scratch to be a fashion accessory! Fiole through its motto, fashion art of vehicle, is an exceptionally designed proposal concept car for Chanel. Luxury brand buyers have appreciated this design just not for its functionality and practicality, the style, prestige and beauty was their main concern above all. Excellent sketches, decent design, interesting video staging and easy to read body shape of this car will make the execution process of this project smoother. The official logo of Chanel is presumed to be used at the rear end of the sidewall. With all the remarkable features, Fiole could be the best product among all other products that have been offered by Chanel.

Crazy Watches from Japan

May. 17, 2009 No Comments Posted under: Crazy Tech

Everyone knows that Japanese live on their own time. Their culture is alternatively more fast-paced and intense than the rest of the western world (like in urban areas), or more relaxed and introspective (like a Japanese garden). Knowing these idiosyncrasies, one Japanese company “Tokyo Flash” sells absolutely marvelous and really bizarre watches. These watches display time in bar code, Morse code, audio equalizer simulation, and even in performance rating system, used in figure skating. They are made with the smallest LED lights available and are currently highly in-demand around the world. They fulfill every kind of purpose, except clearly telling the time. A few examples from their catalog:
