Amazing Coffee Cups Portrayal of Mona Lisa

The 20 foot high by 13 foot wide replica of the painting was created with 3,604 cups of coffee and 564 pints of milk. Artist assistants stand next to 3,604 cups of coffee which have been made into a giant Mona Lisa in Sydney , Australia. The 3,604 cups of coffee were each filled with different amounts of milk to create the different shades. Each cup of coffee was used as one pixel in the image and had varying amounts of milk in it to give it a different shade, from white to black and it took 8 people 3 hours to create it. This is an amazing portrayal of the Mona Lisa and amazing art made from non-traditional mediums.

Jerusalem has been holding its first waiters’ race, copying a popular attraction in France. The French version of the race, an eight kilometre (five mile) run, requires waiters to balance the tray at shoulder level and support it with only one hand. Israeli-Arab and Jewish waiters carry trays of wine and chicken as they compete in a race in Jerusalem. The winner will be sent to represent Israel in an international waiter competition in Paris. Dressed in formal uniforms, around 30 waiters took to a 500 metre track at an East Jerusalem hotel, balancing trays with food and a full glass of red wine.

Umbrellas Covered Street

400 red umbrellas suspended over the new pedestrian mall in the city of Talca to create a visual impression of the inhabitants of a city in which it is uncommon to see daring displays in public spaces. The project is done by students Jaime Latorre and Pablo Retamal of the 5th Year Architecture Workshop under the guidance of Professor Juan Román at the University of Talca’s School of Architecture. The project, which had a the total budget of 26 million dollars, didn’t have any functional reason not even to provide a stepping stone shelter, but rather was just done to make people think differently about landscapes by adding a new layer of experience to it. Anyway, the visual effect of the Red Umbrella Project is huge, inspiring and remarkable as well, although the budget might have been a little less.

Candyland in San Francisco

In honor of the board game’s 60th anniversary, the crookedest street in the U.S. was transformed into the sweetest board game around. The curvy San Francisco Lombard Street was turned into a gigantic version of the game Candy Land. 575 feet of switchbacks in the Russian Hill neighborhood were transformed into the famous board. Kids from the UC San Francisco Children’s Hospital and Friends of the Children pulled from an oversized deck of color-coated cards and then advanced through the squares of purple, red, blue, orange, green and yellow. At the finish line there was a cake shaped like King Kandy’s castle, eco-friendly confetti and balloons.

The Capitol Christmas tree in Washington, D.C., is decorated with 3,000
ornaments that are the handy work of U.S. schoolchildren. Encircling
evergreens in the ‘Pathway of Peace’ represent the 50 U.S. states.
